Carmen has brought so much joy and education to my life. I met her in January 2002 when I interviewed for a career counseling position (my first in the field!) at University of Wisconsin - River Falls. I learned so much about the field of career counseling and how to effectively assist individuals as they transition from student to employee and from job to job and field to field. 13 years later, I found myself interviewing again at another organization, eager and hopeful to be on Carmen's team once again at Adler Graduate School. She guided and mentored me this time on how to not only counsel individuals, but to teach graduate students how to counsel. She challenged me to transition an in-person class to the online world and yet not lose the personal touch. And now, 16 years after I first met Carmen, she has served as a wonderful and supportive reference for a new job assisting women during transition. Carmen challenged me not to let old patterns and experiences hinder new opportunities. I wouldn't have gotten any of these jobs without Carmen!
